Day 1: Marrakech- Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech and start travelling to the Dades Valley via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and over the High Atlas Mountains. Today you willenjoy travelling through the dramatic pass and the fascinating views of the Berber villages and the amazing landscape changing as the day progresses. You will stop in Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah Taourirt, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in this area. You’ll have lunch by the Kasbah and continue to the Dades Gorge through the road of “the Thousand Kasbahs”, which offers many fine photo opportunities of nature and people. Your first stop will be at Skoura in the Birds Valley to see the standing 18th century Kasbah of Ameridhil, then we’ll get to Kalaat Mgouna - famous for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May. On to the Dades Valley where you will enjoy seeing the amazing rock formation famous as “the monkey toes”. You will stay here overnight in a riad or hotel.
Day 2: Dades Valley- Todra Gorges - Merzouga (Desert)
After breakfast, departure from your hotel in Dades valley at 8 a.m., taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley.
45 km further, you will get to Tinghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. You continue to Todgha Gorges (Todgha), free time to go on trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers.
Afterwards you will leave for Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive in Erfoud. Then we'll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.After a welcoming glass of tea in a Guest House near the dunes, departure on the camels. Once at the bivouac, you take a camel ride to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. Back at the bivouac, dinner and overnight in tents in the desert (an unforgettable night.)
Day 3: Merzouga – N’kob – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert then have your shower and breakfast at the camp. After these beautiful moments, you will leave for Rissani - once Sijilmassa - the foundation of the Alaouite Dynasty, the current ruling family. With most of the women veiled, and men hooded, this is a very traditional Moroccan town. We’ll continue driving towards Agdz, via Alnif and Tazzarine, before we get to the fascinating Draa Valley at the edge of the Atlas Mountains, along which lay hundreds of Berber Kasbahs. On to Ouarzazate, where you will be accommodated in a riad or hotel.
Day 4: Ouarzazat - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, we can enjoy a visit to the cinema sets & studios located in Ouarzazate which is known as the Hollywood of Africa. Afterwards we will visit the universal Heritage Site of Ksar Ait Benhaddou as it was named by UNESCO in 1987.
Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built.
We continue our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n'Tichka pass. Break for lunch in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Dropping you off in your accommodation.
