DAY 1 Marrakech - Ouarzazate – Ksar Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Canyon

We will make an early morning departure from Marrakech to cross the Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains with a short stop for coffee and a visit to the argan oil cooperative. We will stop for lunch at UNESCO World Heritage site, Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous Ksar in Morocco. After lunch we will continue through the Skoura Oasis, where numerous ancient Kasbahs stand amongst the palm trees. From here, the route takes us through Kelaa M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, with a stop to see cosmetics locally made from the valley’s abundant roses. We will continue to the Dades Canyon where we will stay in a hotel by the river for the night .

Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Desert camp

After a delicious breakfast at your riad, you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey towards the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes in the Sahara Desert. As you leave behind the landscapes of the first day, you’ll notice how the scenery transforms into a rocky desert.
You’ll pass through old Berber villages, muddy kasbahs, and palm groves, offering numerous photographic opportunities as the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic. Along the way, you’ll stop for a short hike in the Todra Gorge, one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. This area is also the most popular rock-climbing destination in Morocco, known for its towering cliff faces. The breathtaking views here are not to be missed! After your hike, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey to Erfoud, also known as the Fossil City. Erfoud is a great introduction to Moroccan archaeology, and here you’ll have the option to visit one of the fossil museums to learn about the fascinating history of Moroccan fossils. You’ll also see how locals transform these ancient fossils into beautiful items like tables, plates, and sculptures. By 4:00 PM, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.
Your camel guide will be waiting with your camels ready for an adventure into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest dunes in Morocco, rising up to 2,400 feet. Ride your camel across the rolling sands, taking in the stunning desert scenery, and witness the amazing sunset over the dunes. The serene quietness of the desert will offer you a rare moment of peace and reflection. After reaching your Sahara desert camp, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, followed by a comfortable bed to rest for the night. Overnight at the camp includes dinner, bed, and breakfast.

DAY 3 Merzouga - Rissani - Draa Valley - Marrakech

If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the Color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. We will visit the exotic market of Rissani (first imperial city in Morocco), the largest market in southern Morocco. Continue through the Draa valley, the longest river in Morocco full of small villages and hidden Kasbahs.Stops to admire the fabulous landscape and original geological forms. Again cross the High Atlas to come to Marrakech in the evening.
